YOUTH ROCKETRY CAMP 101 🚀

This program is brought you by Hood River Valley Parks Recreation District and the Gorge Rocket Club

WHO CAN SIGN UP: 3rd - 8th graders

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Come join the leaders of the Gorge Rocketry Club for a fun and exciting 3-day rocketry course! Participants will learn about the history of model rocketry, its relationship to the real world space programs and opportunities a rocketry foundation presents for students going into middle school, high school and college! All participants will build their own model rocket and we will have a launching session where everyone will launch and recover their rockets several times.

• One Rocket Build Session: June 20 (Friday) / 10:30 am - 12 pm

• Launch date: June 21 / 9 am - 12 pm

6TH-8TH GRADE CAMP DATES TIMES

• Two Rocket Build Sessions: June 19 20 (Thurs and Fri.) / 10:30 am - 12 pm

• Launch date: June 21 / 9 am - 12 pm

BUILD LOCATION HR Middle School Cafeteria

LAUNCH LOCATION WyEast Middle School fields

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS

• Rocket kits, building materials and rocket motors will be provided for each student.  

WHAT TO BRING

• On the launch day please have your child bring a water bottle and snack if desired, and please dress appropriately to be outside for the duration. 

• We will be recovering rockets on wet grass!
